For tournaments with 60 players or more, complimentary small warm up buckets will be provided by MVG. Annual passes, punch cards, coupons, Junior/Senior rates, and other offers are not valid for tournaments. You may book your tournament April through October. Book EARLY to get your preferred date. MVG defines a tournament as an event with 5 or more groups of players. Tournaments must go off in groups of four. The maximum number for any tournament is 76 players. Shotgun starts require a minimum of 60 players. Motorized cart rental is required for shotgun tournaments.
The tournament organizer is responsible for informing all participants of these policies, and for collecting and paying dues on the day of the outing. If problems arise, the tournament organizer will be notified and will be expected to assist staff in solving the problem. Violators may be required to leave the course with no refund. The tournament organizer must confirm a minimum number of players at least 7 days before the tournament date. On the day of the tournament you will be required to pay for at least the minimum number of players confirmed, regardless of the turnout. A $100 (non-refundable) deposit is required to complete your reservation. This deposit is due at least two weeks prior to your event. Full payment for the event is due before the first tournament group starts, unless other arrangements are made. The MVG staff will not collect fees from your participants. We will conduct one cash, check, or credit transaction with the tournament organizer. To avoid unnecessary costs, we recommend that the tournament organizer set a deadline and collect participant fees at least two weeks before the event. (Note: MVG does not have an ATM. Make sure players bring cash or check for your entry fee.)
Pace of play is 2 hours 15 minutes for a 9 hole event and 4 hours 30 minutes for an 18 hole event. Each golfer must have a set of clubs in a golf bag. Rental sets are available through MVG. Flat-soled shoes are required. No metal spikes are allowed.
Motorized carts are required for shotgun events. For other events, carts may also be reserved in advance. Cart drivers must be at least 18 year of age. Maximum of two adult riders and two golf bags per cart. Carts must be kept on paths where available and at least 30 feet from greens and tees. Any damage to carts will be charged to the party responsible.
Adverse weather conditions may occur. Based upon turf conditions the superintendent may prohibit the use of motorized carts. This can occur with little or no advanced notice. Lightning is unpredictable. MVG does not utilize a warning system to notify participants of dangerous weather. Each golfer and/or guest plays at his/her own risk. Please advise your group of these facts and seek immediate shelter should adverse weather conditions arise. Should inclement weather arise that prevents play our regular rain-check policy will apply. We will of course reschedule your event.
For safety reasons children under the age of 8 years are not allowed out on the course. Pets are not allowed on the premises. Spectators and tournament helpers are allowed on the course with permission of the MVG staff. Anyone on the course must stay within the areas designated by MVG staff.
Personal coolers are not allowed on the course. MVG “Bentley’s Food & Brew” is a licensed food and alcoholic beverage establishment, with exclusive rights to serve your event. MVG will be glad to meet the food and beverage needs for your event. Contact Matt O’Dell at (970)219-3750 at least 14 days before your event to discuss food and beverage needs. Alcoholic beverages not purchased from MVG will be confiscated and those in possession will be subject to possible legal sanctions.
Any markings to the course or signs for your event require approval in advance from MVG staff.

Occasionally, MVG has the ability to offer a Glow-Ball Tournament after dark. This tournament requires a glow-kit that costs $800. This kit includes 3 glow balls per player and all the necessary course items. Only 40 players can play in a glow ball event. The cost for a glow ball event is $95 per person. A special rate of $100 per person includes an Angus hamburger buffet before. Glow Ball Tournaments require extra MVG workers to help set up and clean up the next morning. For this reason, Glow Ball Tournaments must pay for all 40 players. In the past Glow Ball Tournament sponsors have decided to include 2 glow balls with the price of admission and have sold the 3rd glow ball for $10, enabling the sponsor to offset some of the cost of the tournament.
